Lisa Glenn, the founder, executive director, and board president of Lou Car House, is deeply dedicated to children. Lisa’s commitment is evident through her extensive experience as a CASA volunteer, former supervisor at St. Joseph’s Children’s Home, and current Childcare Director at The Potter’s House. She pursued her education at Sullivan University and continues to enhance her skills to better engage with parents and children from various backgrounds. Lisa has completed additional training sessions on a wide range of topics, such as ADHD, Autism, Children’s Behavioral Issues, Addiction in Children, HighScope, Motivation Strategies for Children, Healthy Eating Habits, Parent-Child Relationships, Positive Parenting, Public Relations, Bullying Awareness, Nature-Based Art, Pediatric Abuse, Child Abuse, Dealing with Tantrums, Love and Relationships, Parental Engagement, Leadership, Car Seat Safety, Crisis Management, Teaching Respect, Stress Management, and Emergency Preparedness.

Lisa Glenn, Executive Director

Tasha Coward, a seasoned case manager with a tapestry of experience woven from child care, social work, patient advocacy, and hospitality, is a quiet sentinel in the world of human interaction. Her meticulous nature and keen observational skills are cornerstones of her professional identity. Aligning her academic pursuits, practical wisdom, and heartfelt passions, Coward serves as a guiding star on the board of the Lou Car House. There, she imparts the transformative power of stillness, drawing inspiration from I Kings 19:11-13 and 1 Thessalonians 4:11. Through her course, “Still: Silence as a Form of Resiliency,” Coward cultivates an oasis of tranquility amidst life’s tempestuous seas.

Tasha Coward, Board Member

Kimberly Samuels is a medical professional with the University of Louisville Hospital. She began her career in radiation oncology and transitioned into patient experience and advocacy after witnessing how accurate information from client intake throughout the process leads to greater health outcomes. Currently, she is a Sr. Coordinator in palliative care. Her experience in the oncology division has given her a greater interest in nutrition and caregiving. Kimberly gives much of her time to her church and is involved in several ministries including serving as the Ministry Coordinator for the Family and Friends Ministry. She aligns her education and passion with the Lou Car House as a member of the board of directors, where she promotes the importance of nutrition literacy through her teachings, What’s Love Got to Do With It, which illustrates how love is the most important ingredient in any meal.

Kimberly Samuels, Board Member

David Glenn has a B.Sc. in Business Administration and works for MSD as an Engineer Inspector 2. He used his skill on a mission trip to Costa Rica, where the team implemented a sewage drainage system. He takes pride in creating a safer environment for the kids to play and improving the community’s drinking water quality. Back in his hometown of Louisville, KY, he has worked with youth in both volunteer and paid capacity since his youth giving his time to the Chestnut Street YMCA youth program where he worked with 288 kids per week ages 5 to 13. He also coaches for Youth Rams Louisville football in the 12 to 13-year-old division. He aligns his education and passion with the Lou Car House as a member of the board of directors where he promotes the importance of financial literacy through his training entitled, Ground Floor: The Truth Behind Economic Freedom.

Raven Merriweather is an Assistant Coach for Bellarmine University’s women’s basketball team. In this capacity, she assists with player selection and development, on and off the court. She also helped to develop team graphics and content and orchestrated Bellarmine’s first team camp. Raven graduated from Bellarmine University, where she ranked in the top 10 high scorers and points in a single season,  with a B.A. in Communication and Sports Administration. She obtained a Master’s of Exercise Science in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.  She aligns her education and passion with the Lou Car House as a member of the board of directors where she spearheads Nourish & Connect; a program designed to improve the synergy between nutrition, financial literacy, and parenting skillsets.
